Victoria Vision
This Victoria 34 was prepared by us for long distance cruising in 1999.
Since then she has covered well over 10,000 miles including two
transatlantic crossings. To make life more comfortable on board Harbour
Marine Services Ltd fitted a 5kw Genset, watermaker, extra water and diesel
tanks and an uprated fridge.
For safety new standing and running rigging were fitted with new sails and
full safety gear. A new pushpit was made and fitted to include a Passarelle
and inboard life raft holder/launcher, radar, autohelm, ics weatherfax and
printer, SSB and VHF further complimented her inventory.
Since there was nowhere for the Genset to go except the saloon, the existing
table was removed and a new table constructed to house it. This was
soundproofed and lined to the point where one can sleep in the saloon whilst
the Genset is running!
Victoria Vision returned to HMS late last year and has been rewired and
re-engined and we are currently carrying out a mini refit in preparation for
her next Atlantic crossing later this year. The experience gained working on
Victoria Vision has given HMS considerable knowledge with regard to
preparing yachts for blue water cruising.
